Villa Nobel

Charm and history in the heart of San Remo

Villa Nobel was built in an eclectic style in 1870 and was later acquired in 1891 by Alfred Nobel, who re-named it ‘my nest’, for the feeling of quiet and seclusion the villa gave him.

In the setting of this wonderful park, now covering 5,000 sq.m., Nobel had a laboratory constructed in the villa for his experiments, which continued until his death in San Remo on 10 December, 1896. This is now the date on which the solemn ceremony awarding the Nobel prizes is held.

In the villa and its surrounding park, reflecting the creative personality of Nobel, there are ornamental details that mirror his unusual taste with a mixture of styles.

Because of its huge park and sumptuous interiors, Villa Nobel provide the perfect framework for a wedding full of charm, whether in summer or in winter.
